SUMMARY:Anatomy of Movement/Kinesiology
DESCRIPTION:This two-week Integrative Yoga Therapy  intensive module forms the foundation of the Teacher of Therapeutic Yoga Program. The focus is on the theory and vision of Yoga therapy and the application of Yoga therapy for specific focus groups. Through this module you will learn how to design and teach Yoga programs for groups with specific needs and health challenges. \nMaria will teach Anatomy of Movement/kinesiology.  Participants will learn the use of asana in healing musculoskeletal injuries through an in-depth study of kinesiology\, and understanding the effects of asana in strengthening\, stabilizing and creating flexibility in every joint of the body. This study includes modifications and use of props for all asana categories.

SUMMARY:Yoga Practitioner Training
DESCRIPTION:Maria is a Guest Faculty in this training program.  She will teach Introduction to Ayurveda\, and Ayurveda and Mood. Participants will learn an evidence-based practice for both depression and anxiety\, and ancient strategies from both Tantric and Classical Yoga traditions for self-care. LifeForce Yoga Practitioners learn Yogic practices supported by current research in psycho-neurobiology to help clear away the obstructions (chronic tensions\, constricting beliefs\, limiting emotions) that may be keeping trainees and their students from knowing and expressing their own authenticity and fullest potential.

SUMMARY:FYT: Preparatory Skills and Tools
DESCRIPTION:This Yoga Therapists Training Program explores advanced anatomy and its relationship to physical movement; along with practical treatment applications.  The human body will be studied as a sacred temple with all of its myriad complexities for both assessment and individualized therapeutic application. \nParticipants will be guided in teachings pertaining to advanced postural assessment\, range of motion\, basic muscle strength & flexibility testing\, practical Ayurvedic concepts related to the assessment and treatment process\, understanding of the client’s emotional anatomy and training in practitioner sensitivity & awareness. Participants will both experience and facilitate all assessment techniques taught\, through this gaining a more thorough understanding of specific symptomatic presenting issues\, while maintaining the greater focus of the client as a fully integrative whole human being.
