In-Person Trainings:
Payment Policy:
- To reserve program space a deposit of $450 is due at the time of registration.
- The remaining tuition balance is due no later than October 1, 2026 (required for course access), unless an approved Extended Payment Plan Agreement has been established. Educational materials and course access will not be provided until tuition requirements have been met.
Refund & Cancellation Policy:
- Program deposit is not refundable.
- Refunds (less the deposit fee) will be given if requested six weeks or more prior to program start date (THIS INCLUDES THE ONLINE PREPARATION).
- Cancellations that occur 4 weeks or less from start date of workshop, will forfeit the deposit & $500 of the program fee.
- Students must submit a written cancellation request via email. The date of withdrawal will be based on the date the written notice is received by the program.
- Any applicable refund will be issued within 30 days of the effective withdrawal date.
Program Postponement, Leave of Absence & Reinstatement Policy
The Functional Yoga Therapy™ Advanced Assessment & Treatment Planning Program recognizes that unforeseen personal, medical, or professional circumstances may occasionally impact a student’s ability to complete training as scheduled.
When appropriate, students may request either a Program Deferral (prior to course start) or a Leave of Absence (mid-course) in accordance with the following policy.
1. Program Deferral (Prior to Course Start)
Students may request to defer enrollment into a future program offering up to fourteen (14) days prior to the official course start date (Oct-3-2027).
To request a deferral, students must:
- Submit a formal written request via email to:
- Maria Alive (Program Director)
- The student’s designated mentor (if assigned)
- The Training Coordinator
- Complete a Program Deferral / Leave of Absence Request Form (Link Here)
A non-refundable Deferral Fee of $100 may apply depending on administrative work already completed and mentor assignment status.
2. Leave of Absence (Mid-Course)
Students experiencing unforeseen personal, medical, or life circumstances may request a formal Leave of Absence (LOA) during the training program.
To pause participation, students must:
- Submit a formal written request via email to:
- Maria Alive (Program Director)
- The student’s designated mentor
- The Training Coordinator
- Complete a Leave of Absence Request Form (Link Here)
Leave of Absence requests are not automatically approved and must be formally reviewed and acknowledged by the FYT team.
3. Reinstatement & Returning to a Future Cohort
Students approved for postponement, deferral, or Leave of Absence may return to a future cohort within twelve (12) months of the original course start date, subject to mentor availability and program capacity.
To resume participation, students must:
- Complete any required reinstatement paperwork
- Meet any updated program requirements active at the time of return
- Pay a non-refundable $250 Reinstatement Fee
The Reinstatement Fee helps cover:
- Mentor reassignment and onboarding
- Administrative reactivation costs
- Program coordination and scheduling support
Please Note:
The Training Program does not guarantee assignment of the same mentor upon return.
4. Policy Limitations & Expiration
- Students are permitted one (1) deferral or Leave of Absence per enrollment
- Leave of Absence approval is valid for a maximum of twelve (12) calendar months from the original course start date
- Students who do not return within the approved timeframe may forfeit tuition paid and may be required to reapply and/or pay additional tuition requirements
- Returning students are subject to curriculum requirements and tuition rates active at the time of reinstatement
- If tuition rates increase, students may be responsible for paying the difference in tuition in addition to the Reinstatement Fee

The FYT team reserves the right to determine whether reinstatement into a future cohort is appropriate based on mentor availability, student readiness, professionalism, participation history, and program capacity.

Scholarship Students:
- If a student who was awarded a scholarship needs to cancel or withdraw, the student will lose the scholarship opportunity. They will be required to re-apply for a new scholarship if they plan to attend the program at a later date, with no guarantee of scholarship availability.
Cancellation of Program Offering by MariaAlive Therapeutics:
- If MariaAlive Therapeutics has to cancel any program offerings, including Functional Yoga Therapy workshops, all fees prior paid (including deposit, workshop fee, food fee, homestay fee) will be reimbursed.
- MariaAlive Therapeutics is not responsible for any transportation or other fees that may be incurred due to cancellation.
